You have a good point there. However, I am always hopeful of new projects and stories. I find that I can usually find something I enjoy in most movies.

I don't know, but I am very apprehensive about January movies. January seems to be the time when the movie studios decide to cut there losses and dump the movies that sounded like very good ideas at the time, but somehow went awry. I think the biggest example of this was the movie adaptation of Inkheart with Brendan Frasier released last January. It had the elements of a potential blockbuster--adaptation of a popular fantasy book franchise, big stars, big special effects--but also with the BIG challenge of translating a story that is focused on the "magic" of printed words in books into the medium of big-screen cinema. Needless to say, the translation failed miserably (not to mention, I find the book series itself to be annoyingly pretentious to begin with). Even a re-written ending by focus group could not save it from ending up as a January "scrapyard month" release. I certainly hope that some of these promising January-release movies are good, but without the summer or Christmas holiday break blockbuster movie viewing audiences or the end-of-year-release-the-artsy-movies-before-awards-season motivation, I hold little hope for anything really special coming out in the January-February-March months.
